This lampshade is… a little hard to describe? It’s… an organic spiral… a spherical swirl… a close-up of a virus… or something like that. You get the idea. It’s unique. And most importantly, it’s the first lampshade created for Shade Again. It went through many iterations before arriving at a satisfactory result.
It transforms the direct glare of your light bulb into a soft, diffused light. To create the ambiance you desire, I recommend pairing it with a very warm, low-wattage bulb.
In my opinion, this lampshade truly shines when mounted on antique or vintage lamp bases. It offers a simple and elegant way to breathe new life into an old piece, adding a touch of distinct modernity.
Nothing is impossible
What makes 3D printing so fascinating is its ability to push the boundaries of design through creative engineering. This lampshade makes it possible to give form to so-called "impossible" geometries, inaccessible to traditional manufacturing methods.

Made using the spiral printing technique (like all the other lampshades I offer and will offer), the piece is printed in a single continuous line. This process eliminates any visible seams or "seams," resulting in a perfectly smooth and uniform finish. However, it does impose strict physical constraints, particularly regarding printing angles. The strength of this design lies precisely in this challenge: the very complexity of the spiral provides the structural support necessary to achieve extreme angles in single-line printing.
Choose your finish
Beyond the choice of color, which varies depending on the material available at home, two nozzle diameters are offered. Each influences the visual identity of the lampshade.
0.8 mm nozzle — Textured (heavier)
This option uses a thicker filament, making the printing layers intentionally visible and textured. It gives the lamp a strong presence, creating a striking interplay of light and shadow.
0.4 mm nozzle — Refined (lighter)
This option creates extremely (really extremely) thin layers. The texture becomes subtle, the surface smooth and elegant, evoking the look of frosted glass. Light diffusion is more homogeneous and soft.

- Quarter turn locking : once the support is in place, the lampshade can be easily changed with a simple locking movement.
- Premium material & usage recommendations : Made from high-quality, heat-resistant polymers (up to approximately 80°C) with optimal durability. The use of traditional or "old-fashioned" incandescent light bulbs is strongly discouraged: the heat they emit can damage or deform the 3D printed material.
